Machine made rugs
Machine- made rugs are about thirty-years old in Iran and they have faced a relatively high improvement especially in past 10 years in most of cities in Iran have been many improvements (such as producing carpet-weaving)Machineries, designing and punching the different patterns.
About 50% of machine-made carpets belong to kashan i.e. there are 500 carpet-weaving units with different capacities in kashan.
-
Rugs' accumulation: each rug has two kinds of accumulations (vertical and horizontal).
-
Horizontal accumulation: number of roots in a vertical meter, for example a rug with accumulation of 500 means in a vertical meter of rug, there are 500 roots. Popular vertical accumulations in market are 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000 wates. (Vertical accumulations are different in different methods of carpet-weaving.
-
Number of roots per m2: calculation method is as follows:
Since number of roots in width is equal to 500 knots and in length 1000 knots, therefore the number of roots per m2 Equals: 1000 x 500 = 500,000
-
Primary materials: in order to weave each rug ,you need three kinds of yarns: piles, warps and wefts
-
Piles: are used for weaving knots of colors which they turn around wefts as a knot or u-shape knot and consist of several kinds:
-
Acrylic yarn 5.10 two-layer 100% pure Acrylic
-
Mixture of Acrylic and poly propylene
-
They are spun as a mixture of Acrylic and poly propylene
-
100% poly propylene,(pp or B.C.F)
-
Warps: These kinds of yarns are spun as a mixture of polyester cotton. The quality of these yarns and the kind of spinning is an important factor in durability and beauties.
These kinds of yarns are usually used in Acrylic rugs and in poly propylene and B.C.F. B.C.F is usually used because they are cheap.
