-
Root and zigzag have a little problem.
-
In case of extra yarn between two margins, if only due to one yarn the patterns replace, the rug will be considered as rate of 1.5 or 2.
Forth rate rugs are those rugs which the difference of their length is more than 25% and usually cut a doormats and cushions in the following sizes:
Cushions in following sized:
Fifth rate rugs are those in which their width is 5cm less than standard and they are considered as damages
Machine-made rugs which come out of factories should have the label including the following information:
-
Sizes: a machine-made rug, ignoring the size and shape, should have special sizes in metric systems and about 1.5cm tolerance.
-
Production: In the label it should be noted that this is a machine- made carpet as well as name of the production machine.
-
Specifying the yarns: the yarn in pile or background should be noted in percent.
If the yarns are artificial, the name of root and the commercial name should be inserted too. The percentages should have 0.3 tolerance in comparison with the weight of all yarns and in calculation related to pile or background, the gross material should not exceed than 3%.
In the following cases, some guides are necessary.
Faults which are possible in rug are the following:
Empty space happens when pile is torn and the worker didn't pay attention, so the place of that yarn will be empty and it will continue unless the worker finds that.
It the empty space is horizontal, it will be because of lack of performance in hurnish sticks.
This fault occurs when the blade which is going to raise some of hurnish will be stuck to other sticks and raise them too or while raising one of hurnish next hurnish too. In these cases you will see that on a complete blue background there should be some red yarns.
When the pattern cards is placed on the cylinder in order to order the needles, after pressing the needles for several times, cylinder doesn't turn so in this case secondary hurnish according to the order, will go up and down and pattern doesn't move so repetition in patter occurred which is called repetition in cylinder .
If happens due to problem is design or settling the pattern wrongly.
This fault is when the cuttings blade for which is moving between two rugs will beat the rug and tears it or the rug may be stuck to a part of machinery or even while transporting, a piece of if become torn.
This problem is due to replacing of bobbin from one color instead of another color in the shelf in the back of the machinery and also the double-coloring is due to using different shades of one color.
The distance between two rugs on the machinery is a fixed amount, for example 22mm which has been divided into two equal parts by a blade and separating of the above and beneath rugs are as the result. Now if the blade cut one pile smaller, this is called rough cutting edges. Moreover, rough cutting edges can be produced due to distance change between two rugs. That is may bring down or up the pile and the two rugs go closer but the blade always move from the middle and the displaced rug will come down or up and then the pile will be shortened andrough cutting edges will produced.
This fault occurs when the used starch is more than necessary and too much starch will enter the yarns and hand-touching will face a problem.
This problem is due to disarrangement of cutting blade, when somewhere in the rug will get more pile and somewhere else get less, therefore you will see the rug striped.
When the warp tears and the worker doesn't pay attention, therefore weavers will continue this job and after finishing the rug it will be visible from the back of rug .
While some hurnish are stuck and don't move and some parts of rug for example 2 cm will be without pile.
When in a rug, different kinds of yarns (for example wool and Acrylic) should be used and in finishing stages without paying attention to the differences, the job will finish. So, one of the yarns may burn and it is visible in the rug.
This fault is while carpet back cutting and the reason is disarrangement of machine and due to this, the back of the rug bad cutting and you can see the yarns heads a lot.
This problem is due to disarrangement of root or zigzag wheel and as a result the root are not produce in fixed distances in a direct line or the zigzag is not done in the specified place and it decreases the quality of rug.
The wool rugs consist of those rugs which have three kinds of yarn as the following:
In addition to these three Kinds of yarns, there are other yarns such as root yarns and sewing yarns but usually those three yarns are used.
If the accumulation of warps or wefts related to the machines changes with accumulation of 400 and 500, these rugs at least should have characteristics of produced rugs with accumulation of 350 wefts and this shows the fineness.
-
The average force for extracting pile from the carpet is 8.5 N.
-
Return ability of rug after the pressure toward the first thickness is at least 72%.
-
Thickness of rug after 1000 beating mechanical charge in comparison with the first thickness is 75%.
-
Sizes of rugs should be as the following:(But the limit of tolerance is _+ 1% in width and _+ 1.5 in length )
-
300 x 2400 cm
-
100 x 2400 cm
-
250 x 2350 cm
-
100 x 2300 cm
-
200 x 2300 cm
-
100 x 2180 cm
-
150 x 2225 cm
-
145 x 2150 cm
-
125 x 2200 cm
-
The number of zigzag in 10cm is at least 20.
-
The weight of the yarn per m is 2.68 to 3.10 gr.
-
In respect of durability Acrylic rug has a longer life and is more durable.
-
In respect of shrinking Acrylic rugs shrink so little but low-qualified rugs usually shrink too much In respect of light stability, washing and rubbing Acrylic rugs are much more resistant than BCF rugs
-
Absorbing in nature Acrylic rugs cannot be absorbed by nature but BCF will change to powder and will be absorbed by nature.
-
In respect of appearance and beauty Acrylic rug will be changed in long time and on the contrary BCF change very much.
-
Although it seems most of machine- made rugs have been woven by beautiful and suitable designs and because they are cheap, you cannot compare these two.
-
A machine- made rug after while if cannot be used but hand-made rugs even if it is low-qualified, it will be much or beautiful and precious.
-
If you look at the back of machine-made rugs, you will see that the warps and wefts are in order and also while touching you will touch it.
-
In machine-made rugs, the designs are so symmetric in regard with rug axes and this is usually when the fine hand- made rugs are woven
-
On the contrary of hand-made rugs which their patters is the surface or of the back of the rug seems equal but in machine- made rugs, the detail of pattern at the back of the rug are visible.
-
The roots of hand-made rugs are the continuants of warps, but in most of machine-made rugs, roots are woven separately and then connected to the rug or some of rugs without roots. In addition, the selvedge of machine-made rugs are so fixed and in order and they the easily recognizable
-
Whenever you fold a machine-made rug in the width, pile will be so tidy in horizontal rows and the distance between rows are completely direct and this is not seen in hand- made rugs and the last item is that pile of machine- made rugs are sponge- like and they are lighter in comparison with the hand- made rugs.
